- When learning a Chord, strum through it string by string and listen if you are accidentally muting a string, or have any buzzing. Make sure to make the necessary correction before moving on to another chord.
- The tips of your fingers being sore after a guitar session is normal! You will start to build up calluses on your fingertips which will stop the pain.
- Learn how to Fingerpick, and play with a guitar pick. You will use both often and will thank yourself later.
- Don’t blow all your money on a top of the line guitar. You won’t notice the difference right away, and if you end up giving up on the guitar, you will have a huge hole in your wallet because of it. Buy a nice middle of the road guitar, that will give you a good sound in the beginning, and not force you to buy another guitar after six months.
- Learn on an Acoustic Guitar first, then transition to the Electric. An acoustic guitar is harder to play, so going from electric to acoustic, will make your life more difficult than it has to be.
